The Euphoria Season Finale

(This review contains spoilers.)

Whether you know the show or not, one may have heard about the season finale of Euphoria and the uproar it has caused since its release. It was released on Sunday, February 27, 2022, and I have something to say about it.

The episode had many unexpected twists and turns, especially with Lexi’s play, Our Life. Lexi hit all points with her play, from Cassie’s self-centered ways to her friendship with Rue, and other instances that have played out during this season and last. Her play got many mixed reviews from the audience, many enjoying it, while others couldn’t even stand it *cough, cough Nate Jacobs*. I think Lexi’s play was much needed because it humbled some people, encouraged others, and even let people know the struggle she was going through as someone on the sidelines.

One major character development that was seen in the episode was Rue. She has finally come to the realization that she needs to clean up her act and get better mentally. She finally came to the breaking point to get herself clean and release herself from the people holding her back.

The funniest part of the episode had to be the fight scene between Maddy and Cassie. With pretty much the whole season has been building to this interaction, the writers decided to give us the short scene. The scene was worth it though, from Maddy running after Cassie, to bashing her head in the wall. Loved every part of it, but wished it was longer.

The only part of the show that I could say hurt a little was the Fez and Ashtray scene. This scene was all over the place. There was a really big contrast between them because at the beginning of the season he said Ash wasn’t a kid, but when it came to the moment when the SWAT team came in he said “he’s just a kid”. When he said that my heart broke because Fez really loved him like his brother.
