Fashion Wise
Interview at Plato’s Closet with the Manager.
Plato’s Closet is a retail store that buys and sells trendy secondhand clothing for teens and young adults. I was fortunate enough to score an interview with the manager Dominique Ray at Plato’s Closet, and discuss fashion. I went in expecting certain types of answers, and was caught off guard by what he had to say.
Question: What can we expect to see fashion wise in the fall season?
Answer: In the fall season I think we’ll see a mix of the nineties and people’s own self-expression. However, I predict we’ll see girls wearing big sweaters over leggings, and with guys we’ll see them wearing Timberland’s, and Polo boots.
Question: What’s currently trending?
Answer: I’m not really sure how to answer that question… fashion is based off how you feel, and your personality. So I would say currently what’s in style is expression, it’s all about you. Find your expression.
Question: Would you say anything is going out of style?
Answer: People were using fashion ideas from the eighties, and then people were using ideas from the nineties, and I think people are finally moving away from all of that, and were moving into a new age, we’re creating our own looks, and like I said earlier people are moving towards their expressions, and finding themselves.
Question: What’s your expression?
Answer: I would definitely say my self-expression is fun, relaxed, and very casual.
Questions: Who inspires your look?
Answer: Alexander Wang, ASAP Rocky, and Rihanna.
Question: As the manager of a well-known clothing store, do you connect better with people, because of their sense of fashion?
Answer: Yes, definitely, the way a person dresses, opens up their personality, and tells others more about them.
Plato’s Closet is located in Jefferson Green Shopping Center behind Applebee’s and next to Tuesday Morning.
