Menchville Swim Team Captures 4th Place at State Championships

Alex Moore, Miles McAllister, Kade Younger and Brandon Brnich, 1st place medalists in the 200 free relay.

The Menchville boys and girls teams both placed 4th overall at the 5A State Championship. The boys team won the 200 free relay, finishing first were: Miles McAllister, Brandon Brnich, Kade Younger, and Alex Moore.

On the girls team, Maddie Morello, Jenna Thompson, Leah Riley, Chelsea Marstellar placed third in the 200 medley relay.

Maddie Morello placed 4th overall individually. “I was really happy with my times and the team’s performance. It was a great last meet as a Monarch.”

Carter Ashley, a senior diver, placed 2nd at regional’s, and then went on to finish in the top 16 at States; placing 13th. “I’m the only diver. It feels crazy, I’m so happy I have been with it for four years.”

Cindy Marstellar, the previous head coach, was still very involved with assisting the team this season. “5A is really fast, the fastest we have been to, they swam very well.”
