Menchville Seniors Grad Walk to B. C. Charles

The first Menchville to B.C. Charles Grad Walk occurred on June 1. Menchville seniors, dressed in their purple caps and gowns walked over to B.C. Charles Elementary School, where they were greeted by with excitement and emotion by the younger kids. The Menchville seniors paraded through the hallways lined with B.C. Charles students who waved posters they had made congratulating the seniors for their biggest accomplishment so far. The purpose of the event, according to graduation coach Rosylnn Taylor, was to create excitement for the elementary students and instill in them the desire to make that same walk across a big stage one day.  The walk was successful as students commented “I want a purple gown,” and “I can’t wait to be a senior.”

Menchville seniors gave advice and words of encouragement to the uprising 6th graders and handed out “Commit to graduate” wristbands.
