Menchville High School Winter Choral Concert
The Menchville Auditorium came alive with Christmas music Thursday night at 7 pm. The different chorus groups (under the direction of Jennifer Jarrett) performed their versions of classic Christmas songs such as Carol of the Bells and Jingle Bell Rock, but also newer songs like a medley with the popular songs from the movie Frozen. They performed at their best level and filled the auditorium with their beautiful harmonies.
The first choir on the stage was Mixed Chorus, who performed the song A Charlie Brown Christmas and a 3-minute mix of all the best Christmas songs. After their performance Bella Voce took over the stage with the songs Think Of Me and Jingle Bell Rock.
Subito A Cappella performed Carol of the Bells, Up On the Housetop, Angels We Have Heard On High and Joy to the World. Attendees were lucky to hear a preview in the hallway before the concert started, as they were welcomed by Subito A Cappella singing some of their songs.
The girls show choir Melodies performed Candy Cane Lane and The Chanukah song (We Are Lights).
(M)Pulse concluded the performance with The Sleigh (A la Russe), All on a Starry Night and ended with Frozen (Choral Highlights), which got all the small kids from the front to back row singing along.
The Holiday show ended with all the choirs (and Menchville choir alumni) performing Halleluja by Handel, a tradition started by Jarrett when she became the choir director four years ago.
