National Coming Out Day
Hello Monarchs! Today, October 11th, is national coming out day! National Coming Out Day was founded on October 11th, 1988 by Jean O’Lary, founder of the Lesbian Feminist Liberation, and Robert Eichberg, a psychologist and gay rights activist. It is a day of courage and recognition for the LGBT community. During the 1980s, the LGBT community was not so easily accepted, so the day became a beacon of hope and safety for those who needed it. With the support of others around the globe, October 11th still inspires many to come out and share their pride in person and online. To our LGBT members of Menchville: have pride, just like a Monarch!
