In the 1960’s an experiment was conducted to see just how far someone would go to obey an authoritative figure. The experimenter, Stanley Milgrim, wanted to know how it was possible for the Nazis in World War II to take the lives of innocent Jewish men, women, and children. His experiment was recently repeated and the results were shockingly the same as they were in the original procedure. More about this experiment can be found on Live Science.
