Drama Department Presents “Almost, Maine”
The Menchville drama department is performing Tony Award-winning playwright John Cariani’s play “Almost, Maine” begining November 10. The romantic comedy is set in Almost, Maine – a very, very small town in Northern Maine. The website Stage Agent describes the play as “a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery.”
The play marks the Menchville directorial debut of new drama teacher Courtney Rice. Rice decided to do this play because it is interesting and will appeal to teenagers. The show is a popular choice for high school and college drama programs.
Danyetta Ruffin said that “people should come to the play because its very interesting and funny and most people would be very interested in it”. Stage Manager Lucas Pinson says that “people should come to the play because every ticket and every filled seat counts and the crew put a lot of work in it.”
The play runs November 10-12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.00.
