Four Menchville students have been selected to participate in the The All Virginia Band and Orchestra.

These students are:
Rhys Edwards (Junior) made 4th trumpet
Jack Holland (Junior) made 6th French Horn
Maya Fisher (Senior) made 42nd clarinet
Lauren Weaver (Senior) made 5th Euphonium

No other school in our district had more than one student chosen and no other school in Newport News had a student make it. This has been the first time Director of Bands, Deborah Sarvay has seen this many students make it from Menchville.  Auditions were held at James Madison University this past weekend.

The winners will now travel to George Mason University over Spring Break to perform “the absolute best high school musicians in Virginia.”
