Taylor Wilson: Star Athlete
Born in Macon, Georgia, the wonderful Taylor Wilson is truly working her hardest. Taylor’s daily life is hectic and consists of numerous activities. Wilson is involved in FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America), NHS (National Honor Society), NTHS (National Technical Honor Society), yearbook committee, and she manages it all with a part-time job after school.
Wilson received the opportunity to qualify for states last spring for track in the 200, 400, and 4×4 races. While preparing for the state competition she said that the most challenging part was the training. She elaborated on how there were hot days and long workouts. When it came down to preparing for each race she would “listen to her music, chew some gum, and get in the zone.”
When asked about how she felt about her performance at states and she said it could’ve been better, but due to covid it was challenging. And for cross country as a team and personally, she is satisfied with their performances, and how hard they have been working.
Wilson wants to go to the University of South Carolina and study kinesiology and exercise science. If she gets the opportunity to go there she wants to continue running track. She explained that she did not receive her ring from winning states, but when she does it’s going to be a “slight flex.”
