Favorite Holiday Traditions
Every year spirits are high by the December holidays. Your traditions may include going to Hollydazzle, seeing the lights at Newport News Park, lighting a Menorah, or driving a round the city to see the light’s on houses. However your family celebrates the holidays there a lot of traditions to love.
We asked Menchville students and staff what their favorite traditions are.
Physics teacher Mrs. White says, “My favorite tradition is making cookies.”
Junior Matt Arnold says, “My favorite tradition is going to Ohio to spend time with family.”
Main office’s Mrs. Cobb says, “My favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas tree.”
While everyone loves making cookies and having their presents there are people like Senior Mbiye Kasonga say, “My favorite tradition is giving gifts.”
But there is also the musical side of Christmas. Junior Benjamin K Anderson III says, “My favorite tradition is picking a song and playing it on the piano and singing with my family.”
Senior Frankie Levy says, “My favorite Hanukah tradition is going to the lighting at City Center on the first or second day of Hanukah.”
We challenge all Monarchs to think of their favorite tradition no matter what religion you are and scream it for the world to here. Happy Holidays Monarchs.
