SORA Reading app Review: A new way to read ebooks
This is a review on the reading app SORA. Have you ever wondered is there a new way to read books online without having to buy a book or having to go to the library or Barnes & Noble?
Well, there is a new way to do that without having to get up from your sofa or having to spend money! Menchville students can now read books online with the new reading app SORA, including the best-selling titles: The Ballad of Songbirds, Snakes, and Stamped. Some of the authors that are also represented are Jason Reynolds, Rick Riordan, Stephanie Meyer, and Tiffany Jackson. There are also Spanish books available for Spanish speakers.
If you’re using a Newport News chrome book, SORA can be found in Clever or the MHS library page. Students can also download the app on their tablet or phone. When students first open the app, it will first ask them for the name of the school district that they attend; they should choose Newport News public schools.
Students can browse or search the collection of books to find the book that they want to read. If a student wants to check out a book that is already checked out; they can place the book on hold and SORA will let them know when it’s available. Students can also get a Newport News public library ecard, add a library, and have access to the NNPL collection. SORA also has a lot of genres that range from Young Adult Fiction books to History books. Before a student checks out the book of their choice, if they want to read a little of it before they check it out, the app has a sample option where it will let the student read a small portion of the book. SORA is a great app to read ebooks on.
