Lead4Change begins annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive
Menchville’s Lead4Change club will be running their annual canned food drive from November 11 to November 22, and is asking students to bring in canned food and non-perishable food items to their homeroom classes. Food brought in will be donated to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to stock their shelves for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Last year, over 2,000 pounds of food were donated to the food bank by Menchville students and faculty.
“Our goal this year is to reach 3,000 items or 2,500 pounds,” said Peter Mercier, the sponsor of the Lead4Change club.
The homeroom with the most cans and food collected will win a Chick-Fil-A breakfast on Tuesday, November 26.
