Menchville Senior Landon Shaw sits down with the Lion’s Roar and shares exclusive details about his desire to further his career in soccer.

If you were not a soccer player, what do you think you would play or do?

I would probably be really into basketball.

Why do you play soccer?

I play soccer because I grew up loving it, because I love how fun it is.

Explain the best thing about your team this year.

The chemistry and just overall connection. We are all friends off the field, so we’re all families and comfortable. It makes our games fun and smooth.

What are some of your other future plans?

I plan on going to Thomas Nelson Community College for about two years, then after those two years, I would like to go to Virginia Tech or North Carolina State. I would like to major in agricultural engineering and minor in business.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

My man, Mac Miller. R.I.P.

Who inspires you the most?

My dad because the work he has put in since he was young landed him a really good job and helped him start a great family. I aspire to be like him.

What do you believe is the best thing about Menchville?

People may not know they’re doing it, but some people are just so kind.

What’s one thing you do when you need to relax?

I enjoy putting on some reggae music and laying down.

The Autobiography of Pele by Pele was a really good one.

Where is one place you would love to visit?

I’m dying to go to Madrid, Spain.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I like to play basketball, play video games, or go out with friends.

What is your favorite food?

Top food is shrimp, but I honestly like all seafood.

I can’t choose between Remember the Titans or Avatar.

What is a TV show you just cannot miss?

Man, I just can’t miss Criminal Minds.

If you could be on any reality show, what do you think you would be good on?

Definitely Jersey Shore.

What is something people should know about you?

I pretty much have the best hair in school.

If you could make everyone listen to one thing you have to say, what would it be?

Everyone should just really think more about the positives rather than the negatives in situations.

I’m the best at FIFA.
