Maze of Madness

Do you seek a scare, but also want to support the Menchville choir department? Come to the Maze of Madness on Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th. Tickets are $5 if bought in advance and $10 at the door.

Maze of Madness takes place in the outdoor learning center and the area between the tech and academic buildings. Many are excited about a new section- a labyrinth with shifting walls- in the maze. There is also a “Lighter scare,” area, which is for those who do not want to get scared, and a game section with face painting that will be open for the kids. Costumes for children 12 and under are highly encouraged!

This is an activity that requires a lot of work. “The whole department gets involved,” says choir director Jennifer Jarrett. She said that there have been five Maze of Madness events organized in the past, but “This one will be special because it has moving walls and it’s a choose your own path.”

Junior Ashley Morgan has helped out with the Maze of Madness for the past 3 years, and she will be working the game section for kids this year. She says, “I still need to buy some final things to prepare, but I’ve probably spent two hours thinking of stuff and planning everything.” She believes this year will be even better because, “We’re having more sections, and instead of having one way through the maze, there is going to be different ways. Each time you go through the maze, you will hit something new.”

Menchville choir students all put in time and effort to make this maze great and earn money for the department. It’s a fun activity for families looking to bring their kids somewhere exciting, and fun for any students who want to get scared!

Come on down with your friends and family to celebrate Halloween and enjoy a night filled with horror!
