Overboard is a 2018 American romantic comedy film written and directed by Rob Greenberg.  A remake of the 1987 film of the same name, the plot follows a working class single mother who convinces a rich playboy with amnesia that they are a married couple.

Eugenio Derbez is actually the producer, he’s the one who actually decided he wanted to remake Overboard and made the creative decision to swap genders, casting the man as the billionaire and the woman as the struggling parent.

I haven’t seen the original, so I wasn’t constantly comparing this to the original, I was seeing this fresh and it was hilarious. The whole theater was laughing out loud frequently throughout the movie. Eugenio Derbez never disappoints; he kept me laughing throughout the whole movie.

Very well done, great performance all around. My expectations were low, but I was surprisingly delighted with this movie. It’s funny, has substance and the plot it’s cute.

Overall, it was a sweet and great movie, ideal to see with the whole family. What I liked most was how this movie changed my mood and made me leave the movie theater with a big smile!
