INDIANA, IN — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has posted a broad new round of vehicle safety recalls covering passenger cars, heavy-duty trucks, trailers and recreational vehicles. The notices involve several major automakers and specialty vehicle builders, and they range from display failures and software issues to fuel-line leaks and possible wheel detachment.
Some of the most urgent notices carry “Do Not Drive” warnings, including recalls affecting certain Porsche and Subaru models. Others call for owners to check whether their vehicles are included and arrange free repairs through a dealership. NHTSA says drivers can use the agency’s recall lookup tool with a license plate number or 17-digit vehicle identification number to see whether an open recall applies.
Ford and Toyota recalls cover dashboard displays and fuel system risks
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2026 F-150 pickups and 2025 through 2026 Super Duty trucks, including F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600 and 2026 F-750 models. The issue involves inaccurate speedometer and tachometer readings, which violates federal safety standards for vehicle information displays.
Toyota is also dealing with two separate recalls. One covers 2024 through 2027 Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles because fuel tubes may disconnect and leak. The other affects some 2022 through 2024 Lexus NX, NX Hybrid and NX Plug-in Hybrid models because the instrument panel display may fail. Both issues can affect a driver’s ability to monitor the vehicle properly while on the road.
Porsche and Subaru face the most urgent do not drive orders
Porsche Cars North America issued one of the most serious warnings in the group, telling owners of certain 2024 Porsche 911 variants and 718 models not to drive them. The affected 911 trims include Carrera GTS, GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo and Turbo S, along with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 718 Spyder RS.
NHTSA says the center wheel locks on those vehicles may break, creating a risk that a wheel could detach. Subaru of America has also issued a “Do Not Drive” warning for certain 2026 Crosstrek and Forester vehicles because of a risk of losing vehicle control. In both cases, owners are being told the defects are serious enough to keep the vehicles off the road until repairs are completed.
Hyundai, Volkswagen and Audi recalls add steering, battery and lighting concerns
Hyundai Motor America listed two separate recalls involving select 2026 Elantra, Elantra Hybrid, Elantra N, Tucson Hybrid and Venue models. One addresses a possible loss of steering control tied to loose fasteners, while the other concerns a wheel-detachment risk.
Volkswagen Group has a recall for certain 2024 and 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron vehicles because of a high-voltage battery fire risk. These recalls show how the latest federal safety action spans both gasoline and electric vehicles, with problems affecting steering systems, structural fasteners, battery systems and warning displays. Owners of affected vehicles are being urged to confirm whether their exact trim and model year are included.
Commercial trucks and trailers also appear on the federal safety list
The recall list also includes several commercial truck manufacturers and trailer builders. Great Dane Trailers has issued a “Do Not Tow” warning for 2027 Champion models because an incorrect plate in the coupler could cause the trailer to detach unexpectedly. That warning places the focus on towing safety and the risk of separation while in use.
PACCAR is recalling certain 2027 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks because bunk restraint webbing may not be secured correctly. Volvo Trucks North America is recalling select 2025 and 2026 Volvo VNL trucks over loose or missing structural bolts in the cab. Altec Industries is also recalling certain digger derricks and other units for potential front bumper detachment and missing rearview cameras.
RV builders and specialty equipment makers face separate safety fixes
Beyond mainstream cars and commercial rigs, NHTSA’s latest list includes several recreational vehicle and specialty equipment recalls. Forest River, K.Z. Inc. and Alliance RV all appear in the notices for different issues affecting select travel trailers and RVs.
Those alerts involve missing circuit protection on charge lines, slide switches without overcurrent protection and loose solar panel wiring. Jaguar Land Rover is also listed because some 2022 through 2026 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles may have rearview camera damage caused by water intrusion. Together, the recalls show a wide safety sweep across multiple vehicle categories and price points.
How owners can check for an open recall and arrange a free repair
NHTSA is urging owners to confirm whether their vehicle is included by using the official Recall Look-up Tool. The agency says drivers can search by license plate number or by the vehicle identification number, also known as the VIN. That step is important because many recalls cover only specific trims, build dates or equipment combinations rather than an entire nameplate.
If a vehicle is listed in an open recall, owners should contact an authorized local dealership to schedule the repair. NHTSA says the work is free. For drivers facing a “Do Not Drive” notice, the advice is more urgent: the vehicle should stay parked until the fix is completed and the safety risk is addressed.
