Menchville’s own MHS Dance Team will be performing for the first time ever at Menchville Rocks this year. The students plan to dance a hip hop style routine with their own choreography.

The Dance Team is relatively new to Menchville, but the activity has started to take off this year. There are twelve students in the group, ranging from freshmen to seniors. The team often performs to song mash-ups in a modern style.

All of the MHS Dance Team’s choreography is original, and each routine is choreographed by Junior Kadaija Hamlin. Said Hamlin on this process, “I just come up with it on the spot.”

This will be the MHS Dance Team’s first performance, but also one the group hopes will kick off a series of MHS Dance Team shows in the future. The students hope to keep the team going, and possibly perform at the Menchville Talent Show in March. Until then, Hamlin said, they are “excited to perform at Menchville Rocks.”
