Menchville Boy’s Varsity Soccer Record Tarnished
On Tuesday, the Menchville Varsity Boy’s Soccer suffered a devastating loss to the Kecoughtan Warriors 2-4. This is the first loss of the season for the Monarch’s boys soccer team. They were matched up against the Warriors star players: Senior Brennen Burton (committed to play soccer for JMU for the class of 2020), Junior Harry Conley, and Junior Luke Messick. Burton scored three goals in order to subdue the Monarch’s; while on the other end of the field, Messick secured the goal allowing only two balls to get by him. Center defender for the Monarch’s James Gregory said, “Honestly, it was a tough loss. We had many more opportunities then they did, but I feel like us losing is a big wake up call and will help us more in the long run with giving us some energy to work off of.” The Monarch’s will be tested again next Wednesday by a stellar Lafayette offense lead by senior, Reeves Trott. “We will definitely come out ready to play,” said Gregory. Catch the game in Williamsburg, Virginia at Wanner Stadium beginning at 7pm.
