On Sunday March 13th, 2016, Monarchs came out to support people from all over Newport News who participated in the Newport News One City Marathon. This was the second  One City Marathon that Newport News has hosted. This marathon takes participants on  a 26.2 mile running tour through Newport News. Since marathons aren’t easy, Menchville Monarchs decided to provide water, entertainment, and encouragement to runners passing by Menchville Sunday morning. Clubs including French National Honor Society, Band, Spanish National Honor Society, Varsity Field Hockey, and AFJROTC all came out to be a part of the runner’s 26.2 mile trek around Newport News.
