Menchville Takes a Run at States

The Menchville Indoor Track team had many runners win and take home state medals in several events last weekend in the 5A Virginia State Track Meet.  The girl’s 4×400 meter relay with runners, Nelia Perez, December Hutchinson, Taylynn Blunt, and Danyetta Ruffin placed 4th.  The same team of Perez, Hutchinson, Blunt, and Ruffin placed 5th in the girl’s 4×200 meter relay.  Blunt also placed 9th in girl’s long jump.  On the boy’s  side of the competition, the 4×200 meter relay with runners, Torey Guilford, Malik Dixon, Caden Jenkins, and Andre Gillispie, placed 6th.  The 4×800 meter relay placed 7th with runners Shane McFadden, Aaron Kempf, Malik Dixon, and Matthew Arnold.  Another 7th place relay team was the Monarch’s 4×400 with Jenkins, Dixon, Guilford, and Gillispie.  Guilford also placed 9th in the 55 meter dash, and Arnold placed 7th in the 3200 meter run.
