“Star Wars VII” movie review
The Force Has Awakened
Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the galaxy faces a new threat from Kylo Ren and the tyrannical First Order. When a soldier, turned defector, named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet where he meets Rey, a tough junk scavenger, and BB-8, a droid that possesses a top-secret map that could turn the possibilities of the future, their meeting sparks events that lead to the rest of the adventure in the galaxy. Together, the young duo joins forces with Han Solo and his loyal sidekick Chewbacca to make sure the Resistance receives the intelligence concerning the location of Luke Skywalker, the last of the known Jedi Knights.
As a continuation of the original trilogy, The Force Awakens has snatched the attention of the fans yet again, bringing the audience to the edge of their seats for every moment of it. Most impressively, not only does the franchise manage to acquire new fans, but it held onto the old ones as well, perhaps aided by the use of some original trilogy actors, such as Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), and Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker).
As for profit, the film pulled in a whopping $27.59 million on opening day. It broke the $1 billion mark globally faster than any other film in history and broke the previous profit record set by Jurassic World earlier this year.
“So great! I loved it!” said Janie Towler. “It was an action packed movie that left me wanting more.” exclaimed Savannah Davidson. Even people who don’t consider themselves true fans of the franchise were excited to see it and the film is still showing in theaters 3 weeks after the release, and will probably stay for a while longer.
With two more films guaranteed to finish out this trilogy, we cannot wait and are patiently waiting to see what happens next.
