For those of you who don’t know, Nathan Sykes is a former member of the boy band the Wanted. The 22 year old recently reinvented himself as a new solo artist. “Kiss me Quick” is his first single as a solo performer. His album is set to release later this year. Nathan’s solo sound is very soulful and fits into the R&B music genre. This is a fresh sound to fans that listen to the Wanted. Unlike Nathan Sykes, they produce music that is more in line with the genre of pop. I believe Nathan is on the right path with his new sound and songs.

The song, “Kiss me Quick” is his most recent piece of work. Nathan told GoMoxie.org (a student music news service): “We were just laughing and joking about the fact that I can’t flirt. So that’s why we wrote ‘Kiss Me Quick’ about and it ended up being my debut single.”

The first time I listened to it, I actually wanted to sing along and even dance a little. “Kiss me Quick” is upbeat and very positive. That’s the kind of music that fans want to hear.
