Graduation 2021
On Tuesday, June the 8th, the graduation ceremony at Todd Stadium marked the end of a long chapter of life for all Menchville seniors.
The ceremony, which would normally be held at the Hampton Colosseum, was like all other graduations. The only difference was this graduation seemed to have a theme: resilience. A theme that was put on display at the ceremony as the graduates and spectators participated in and watched the graduation in 90 degree scorching heat. The class of 2021, which was the 50th ever class at Menchville, was constantly praised for their resilience by all the speakers, which included senior class president Morgan Gross, salutatorian Katherine Scott, valedictorian Natalie Bretton and Menchville principal Bobby Surry.
After the speaking concluded, seniors were called one by one onto the small stage at Todd Stadium to receive their diplomas. And, after all students had their diplomas the event ended with some of the graduates celebrating by tossing their caps into the air.
