All-Virginia Guitar Ensemble Students Picked From Menchville

On Wednesday, June 8th, junior Noah Nipp and freshman Sam Cornette received notice that they had been selected for the All-Virginia Guitar Ensemble (AVGE). The program is open to rising 10th through 12th graders, and involves traveling to Hot Springs, Virginia, during November to perform in a large ensemble at the Homestead. The program will be conducted by Matthew Denman, an Instructor of Guitar at Oklahoma City University, Director of Education for the Guitar Foundation of America, Director of the Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute, founder of the Oklahoma Guitar Orchestra, and former Director of Guitar at Classen School of Advanced Studies. Nipp and Cornette were the only two students in the Tidewater area selected for the  program.
